Warm Thoughts of Oahu

While in Hawaii, we had our portraits done on the main street in Waikiki.
It was 85 degrees in January!
I'd like to rewind to this moment right now...

Happy Colorful Works

I came across this Etsy artist going by Joo Joo and love her work!
I thought I would share her works with you.
They make me smile;)

You can find her here.

Yed gave me a mini cactus on our first date.
Instead of flowers, he thought he would give me something that
would remind me of my Texas roots.
These cuties remind me of that moment:)

Monday Video Coffee Fix

5 days till the Portland Saturday Market begins!
I don't think I need coffee when I think about the PSM.
Bitter-Sweet.

I change my mind, I need a triple!

Addiction #4 : Wood

I have an ongoing affair with wood.
That didn't sound right!
Let's not go there...
I love these modern, organic tables by Michael Arras!
Wow, these are gorgeous works and they speak to me...
You can find them here.
Michael is from Portland, OR!
Makes me love them a bit more.

Random Sustainable Thoughts

We get tons of junk mail and I'm behind on my shredding.
I was thinking, "What can I do with all this shredded paper?"
Of course I'll recycle it but can I re-purpose?
Suzanne would be proud.
How 'bout a chair?
No?

Artist Charles Kaisin from Brussels is the creator

of this shredded paper chair.

My dog, Burnside would be delighted.

*

I came across this book that has tons of ideas

on revamping what you have and creating what you don't.

Even basic know how techniques that I don't know, like tying a tie.

Love it!

Quote:

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old times, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery- celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from- it's where you take them to."

Sweet Girls Night Out

Yesterday I went to the City Grill with Jennifer Kate
Gleason James DeAnda
and it was a blast!
I haven't laughed that hard in weeks.

I had to introduce her to the BEST Cucumber Martini
at Acadia first.
Sarah at Acadia doesn't mess around!
I love it there.

That was our pre-function.

The Grill was nice & empty.
We actually got a window seat. Very rare!
The view of downtown Portland on the 30th
floor is beautiful
.
We got to dish about old times & new.

We were way overdue. Actually expired...
The sweet couple sitting behind us paid for our bill!
Who does that? That was really sweet!

I have to hang out with the girls in my life more-
to charge my battery. It's hard to pull away from work and family,
but this keeps me sane.

Addiction #3: One Root Clothing

One Root Clothing

These embroidered skirts are beautiful!

The colors are vibrant and the original artwork on each piece is lovely.
I have about 20-30!

Clearly I am addicted and you can see why.
Erin & Byron Lee are the master minds behind One Root
and you can find their work at
Splurge and the Portland Saturday Market (starts Feb 28!)

Addiction #2: Hanky Panky

Hanky Panky
Whitney & Erin at Naturals (in Lake O) started this addiction.
Thanks ladies...

I treated myself to this red pair today.
I bought the last red pair over at Lily Atelier(in Camas).

Because I deserve it.
Damn it!

Addiction #1 Lindt Dark Chocolate

This is soooooo good!
Angie started this addiction and I was skeptical at first.
Now I need a 12 step program.

Sunday Morning Nostalgia

Good Morning;)
As I blog, it's very quiet in the house because my little turkey is at Grandma & Grandpa's house in Hood River. I miss the squeals and the sounds of lil' dancing feet.
By the way, a very rare date night was way overdue!

I am missing my family in Texas & NM.
Having breakfast together & maybe some shopping therapy with my Mom was always good. I found this picture of my parents and love it! My mom is rockin' the red lips & off shoulder red dress. Watch out! Check out the chandelier earrings by yours truly.
She won't like me posting this pic but, how can I resist?

My Dad is looking pretty dapper too;)

His best accessory?

The arm candy in RED.

My Shoe Addiction.

It's been almost 2 month's since my last relapse!
I've had my eye on a pair of heels like these bad boys by
Pour la Victoire.

They look so uncomfortable but sexy!
Isn't that what really matters?

I kid.

I love the platform in the front.
It says, "You can wear me for 3 hours."

Now these Alexander McQueen heels say,
"I'll kill you in 30 sec!"
Maybe 45 sec. There's a mini platform at the ball
I missed.

Are those imprinted toes?

That's kinda funny;)

Dream of Twins

I had a crazy Dream last night that I was 5 months pregnant with twins! Scary! I think its because my brother & his lovely wife learned that they are expecting a girl. Also, my dear friends' Erin & Byron are having a baby boy any day now. It could also be the small pressure of having another baby from friends & family. By the way they are crazy and I'll have to knock on wood now.
Well in all this baby fever, I came across this awesome
Bassinet by Bloom.
I could have used this 4 years ago.

Terrible Fours

My little guy is going through another phase: Turkey Phase Four.

He has officially perfected the tantrum.

He wins Best Actor in a dramatic series.

Yesterday would've been the day that wins him the Oscar.

Cheers to the Super Bowl Right?

Dare I say that I don't know who's playing?
If we were in Texas right now--oops-- I mean New Mexico, this image would be reenacted. My Pops & Yed putting all differences aside and having a nice cold one.
Don't let him fool you, my Dad is really a softy.
