Cravings

I can live on these rolls lately.
A little peanut sauce and POW!

An explosion to the senses.
I know, a little dramatic.

I love this fruit cocktail!!!!
Available at the Portland Saturday Market.
Coconut, papaya, mango, pineapple and watermelon.

Enjoy your weekend!

San Francisco, je t'aime.

We will be at the San Francisco International Gift Show July 31- August 3 2010 (this weekend). We are looking forward to moving into a boutique near you;)

This photo by Rich Capture is amazing!

Exhausted

Getting a piggy back ride from dad can be so exhausting! Actually this sums up the way I feel at this very moment. Do you remember those days when you were little and you could sleep anywhere? Ahhh, the good 'ole days...

Addiction # 19: Succulents

I love succulents! They are sooooooooo pretty! These beauties are drought tolerant because they store water in their leaves. Each one is so unique and maybe a bit odd. Some look like toes, and others look like spider webbed roses. Succulents Galore has great succulents you can order on line. My favorite is one that looks like a strand of pearls. Love.

Garden Delights

Never mind that our strawberries are so teeny tiny, our garden yields! Yay! Everything is finally blooming. We had a heavy slug problem (darned critters eat everything). The garden recovered nicely.
Enjoy this hot summer weekend!

My little guy and I dance to Manu once a day.
Maybe a little hula hoop action too:)

Post Trunk Show: Show Pony Seattle

Am I ready?

Calorie free treats.

I headed to Seattle on Friday and back to Portland that eve. The show was sweet! Met lots of great women, saw lots of eye candy, shopped a bit (occupational hazard #1) and enjoyed some pastries too (occupational hazard #2). By the time I got home, I melted to the ground exhausted. Lot's of Love for Show Pony, they were an awesome host!

Fourth of July

Overcast day-great for a canoe adventure.
We got to see the Portland bridges raise
for boats too.

Canoeing pros Leah & Tim show us how it's done.

The Hood River sky at dusk.
Patience at age 5 is really hard!

These were the Hood River fireworks. Well worth the wait (10pm). This image doesn't do them justice. They looked like chandeliers in the sky. Sparkly dandelions too!

Cheers to this Weekend!

Enjoy this Fourth of July weekend! We will not be at the Portland Saturday Market on Sunday. Relish every moment with friends and family. Drink a cucumber martini too. Why not? It's good for you, after all it's a vegetable.
  • 1 1/2 cups gin
  • 1 cucumber (about 9 ounces), cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices, plus 6 thin slices for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons (or more) dry vermouth
  • Ice cub

    • 1 1/2 cups gin
    • 1 cucumber (about 9 ounces), cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices, plus 6 thin slices for garnish
    • 2 tablespoons (or more) dry vermouth
    • Ice cubes
Mix gin and thick cucumber slices in pitcher. Cover and chill overnight or up to 3 days.

Strain gin, discarding thick cucumber slices. Pour half of gin into cocktail shaker. Add 1 tablespoon (or more) vermouth, then fill shaker with ice. Shake vigorously; strain into 3 glasses. Repeat with remaining gin and desired amount of vermouth. Garnish with thin cucumber slices and serve.

    Cravings: Ceviche

I love Ceviche. We've been perfecting our recipe. This dish consists of fish marinated in a citrus mixture of fresh lemons and limes. The citric acid causes the proteins in the seafood to cook without heat. We add tomatoes, onions, cilantro and avocado (on the side). The flavor is intense freshness of citric infused fish and vegetables. We've been using halibut and shrimp. Cheers to summer in Portland!
