Chilly Days

I blogged about my Camellia tree recently and how beautiful it is when the sun kisses it. It's pretty with snow... But seriously? I'm ready for spring! It's been so frigid, icy & wet. OK -my rant is done:)

Warm Beach Dreams

Wisteria Caviar Earrings

Luna Earrings

Clustered Wisteria Necklace

My mind is at a warm sunny beach. Soaking up some sun while wriggling my toes in the sand. Maybe I'm reading a novel and my sketch book is by my side- for those flashes of inspiration that interrupt my story...Sigh.
Enjoy your weekend!

Hobbies & Addictions

I've been thinking of adopting some finches for a while. I love these cute little creatures! They tweet so sweetly and are curious and playful. Now, I'm a proud momma to 3 Zebra Finches! This print above is made by Beethings in Dallas, Texas. Love! It will hang by my little guys. We stare at them as they stare at us. Who is watching whom?

Floral Embellishments for a Wedding Dress

Check Spelling We created embellishments for a wedding dress out of silk, gemstones, feathers, silver & thread. They are so sweet! The little daisies with blue gems in the center go on each side of the bottom of the gown. The ivory flower in the first pic will be attached to the top of the bodice.

Sunny Days

The sun has power over me. It woke me up this morning, ever so sweetly. My Camellia tree was enjoying it's warmth too (I had to clip a few branches). My mood changed dramatically. I'm noticing my son's giggles more, the music my tea cup makes when it meets it's saucer, Yed's whistling and Burnside's wagging tail.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Silly Things That Keep me Warm and Cozy...

It snowed big fluffy white flakes today. Is spring ever going to come? This scarf is ridiculously big and cozy. I carry it around like my son carries his favorite toy of the day.

This habit I need to kick fast. Why do I crave chocolate so much?

Oooh my sweet succulents. Not much is alive outside in the garden now, but inside my succulents are happy. They are plump and all shades of green.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mom, it's in the mail-I promise!

Anthurium
(her roots tightly hug a big rock).
Thank you Yed!

My Valentine socks

I hope your day is lovely! I can be really sappy and silly, but today I can be sappy, silly and giddy. I really don't need an excuse...

Wedding Colors

Our clients wedding colors have been blues (all shades) and olives lately. These colors are gorgeous together! Other colors we are working with include chocolates and salmon corals. Hmmmm, so pretty!

Addiction #22: Chocolate

The apple doesn't fall too far
from the tree.

I melted up a batch of dark morsels...

Let the dipping begin!

I need help.

Romantic Rose Quartz

This semi precious gem is known for healing matters of the heart. The stone of all-encompassing love. Rose quartz is abundant and has been used for centuries. My favorite combination with this stone is using it with dark oxidized sterling silver and/or gold.

Fresh Mussels in White Wine Sauce

Low tide in Lincoln City, OR.

Our prey:
Mussels and barnacles.

Our mission is to make a
lovely dish of steamed mussels
(with Leah's expertise).

Mission accomplished.

We scrubbed our catch and removed the beards (the beard is what attaches the mussels to rocks-strong little critters). Discard any open mussels.

Rinse and steam for 10 minutes in white wine, olive oil, and water. Discard any mussels that don't open.

In another pan saute chopped onions in olive oil and white wine. Pour over steamed mussels and serve with fresh parsley.

We steamed and served the barnacles like the mussels. They were tasty!

If your up for this adventure, annual shell fishing licenses in Oregon are about $7. More info on that here.
