Work Bench Diaries
Saw day Monday. Flowers, leaves and foliage hand-cut from sterling silver. It's a good saw day! The bad ones are really bad, where I go through blades faster than my morning cup of java... Ugh, frustrating!

Cravings
It was 81 degrees today. Yay! We recently did the Fremont Fair in Seattle and it was maybe 58 degrees? Seriously, people had furry hats and coats on. Warm weather makes me crave colorful food like salads with apples and strawberries or avocados with salsa and tostadas. The more color the better.

Fremont Fair Seattle
Micah's #1 pick (wonder why?).
My pick. This Chevy is turquoise with a
Tea Time fountain!?!
Fit for a Crafty Queen!

We had a great time in Seattle! The people at the MarQueen Hotel were wonderful. We stayed with Suzanne of Mugwump and Leah of Leah's Glass Creations in a sweet suite. Lot's of laughs, adventures and silly midnight Internet time. I'd do it again in a heartbeat:)

Toes & Polish
Time to take those feet out of hiding and make them purdy. I'm grateful for the blurry shot of my toes. I seem to stick with black and deep eggplant for nail polish colors. You? I'd like to try turquoise and bright red this summer. It's been chilly up here in the Pacific Northwest. Sigh. But that sun will come soon.
Enjoy your weekend!

Seattle Bound
June 19 & 20th, 2010.
Saturday 10am-8pm
Sunday 11am-6pm
On June 19th and 20th the Fremont Fair returns to celebrate community with a toast to summer! Founded in 1972, the Fremont Fair is one of Seattle’s most beloved neighborhood street festivals, featuring a weekend of eclectic activities that celebrate the quirky community of Fremont, the self-proclaimed “center of the universe.” Held annually in mid-June to coincide with the Summer Solstice, the event draws more than 100,000 people to shop, eat, drink, mingle, groove, and enjoy all manners of creative expression. Artistic highlights include craft and art booths, street performers, local bands, wacky decorated art cars, the free-spirited Solstice Parade produced by the Fremont Arts Council, and many other oddities that personify Fremont’s official motto “Delibertus Quirkus” – Freedom to be Peculiar. The Fremont Fair is produced by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and funds raised benefit a number of area non-profits including Solid Ground, a local poverty-focused non-profit who originated and produced the Fair for nearly 40 years.

Hula Hoops!
I've been feeling the urge to hula hoop these past couple weeks?! I found some glittery ones at Walgreen's that will do for now, but am in love with these Hip E Hoops pictured! These turquoise glittery hoops rock! We've been having reckless hula hooping contests in our living room (the Legos go flying everywhere). Yed's form is a bit spastic. Micah spins with the hoop! Mine, well, I'm working on it. The boys think it's hilarious. I'm on my way to being the hula hooping champion of the world!
Enjoy your weekend!

Jewelry Care and Tarnish Tips:
- When jewelry is stored, keep in plastic zip lock bags to avoid jewels from oxidizing.
- Soft gemstones like turquoise, coral and pearls may change color when left in the sun or submersed in water.

Crochet Covered Stones
A friend of mine made me an antennae cozy for my car. It's awesome. My antennae may get chilly from time to time. Stones with sweaters? Glorious! I love these by Canadian artist: Knitalatte. She sells prints of her crochet work that I adore.
