I love to display jewelry in non traditional ways at our shop Citrine and at home. I also have a terrarium fetish and hang my jewels on their glass rims (above).

Glass cylinders about the diameter of a dessert plate work really well. These will look lovely on your dressers or wherever you find yourself taking your earrings off. I layered three different sands and added little things I love like geodes or sea urchins. I recommend this link for beautiful sands: Artemisia

The weight of the sand keeps your holders in place. Enjoy!

DIY: Pressing Flowers

When those summer gardens are yielding or bouquets are spent, clip the lovelies to press.

I found this awesome press at a thrift store! You can use heavy books too. All you need is sheets of white paper and cardboard for layering. I made the mistake of using cardboard with a ribbed texture (my dried flowers have that same texture).

Lay your specimens down on white paper and layer with white paper, then cardboard and repeat.

Sandwich as many flowers as you like! Patience is the hardest part. Let your flowers dry for 2 months.

These pressed flowers are lovely and so fragile! Arrange in a frame or make cards out of them (I used stick glue to arrange in a frame).

Not bad for a first try, next time I'll add greens and maybe a sunflower!

How To: Moss Ball Planters

Supplies:

Sheet moss (available at a local nursery), scissors, fine wire (green floral wire -28ga), cotton thread, potting soil and plant trimmings.

Wet soil a bit to roll in a ball- dry soil will crumble.

Wrap cotton thread around soil ball.

Apply pieces of moss to soil and use fine gauge floral wire to secure. Find a good spot to make a hole on top and add your plant trimmings. Shape ball to hug your plant and your done. It looks difficult but as my plant expert friend assured me, easy-peasy.

Citrine- a semiprecious gemstone with hues of warm yellows. The name is derived from citrina which means yellow in Latin. This gem is known as the prosperity stone as it promotes good fortune and health. Citrine dissipates negative energies and brings happiness. We picked this name rather quickly and are excited to share it with you!

Our vision was to lighten the space up and tie in color and wooden textures. We painted it a warm creamy white and accented with yellow and grey. The splashes of color come in with our jewelry and Misha's curation of clothing. It feels happy!

This little treasure of a shop is an explosion to my senses! Ohhhhhhhh where do I begin. They have a variety of glass vessels to create sweet terrariums. You can embellish your terrarium with ground garnet or hematite (I used hematite above for a jewelry display). They carry succulents, raw gemstones, moss, and so much more. Love!

I printed out goodbye in many languages to adhere to our window at Splurge. It's always fun to create a window display, this one was difficult/sad. I couldn't visualize how we would introduce the fact that we were closing. A friend gave me-umm, my son- the Eiffel Tower to create out of wood and presto! Window display!

I'm gonna miss this little shop!
